However, they are not all simply curious. Some are condemning. We are judged by some simply because we have a beautiful, colorful family. If you had seen the rest of the look that this lady gave my husband you would know that it was not a curious look. It was a judging look.
(Edited to distort the face to make the person more nameless. This could have been any of many and it isn't my intention to harm the person; simply to raise the awareness that this does happen today, just about everywhere.....even in churches.)
Silly humans.

ReplyDeleteWhen someone says something rude to us (or stares excessively) I usually say something like, "Well, I guess God doesn't call everyone to do this" or some variation pointing out that it's a calling only some are privileged to have :)
ReplyDeleteI never knew how judemental I was until I married a Hispanic man..... I am ashamed of the way I once was. Thank heaven for men and women of God who are willing to live beyond the looks and outer appearance of man. ( 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7)
