Since I have already gone there........

  1. I am not even going to tell you that they look too cute to throw fits, be destructive etc. because my step-daughter was a cutesy blonde and she could scream for two hours with no problem and play mind games like a teen when she was only five.

That's a really nice picture. How did you get them all looking at the camera???

  2. They knew that they were stuck there until mom was happy with the picture. With that many little ones I don't expect too much!

  3. When I look at Lilly and Dimples it's a little sad cause they are clearly so stressed, but the rest of the family- even Jo has grown into such nice calm smiles. I'm certain that the girls will share that in the future. I'm so glad they are with you.

As you know the kiddo used to have a ton of tantrums. 10 years later we are down to outbursts and angry finger snapping. It always amazes me that she know how to snap her fingers in a way that expresses so much. Anyway, I did get rid of a lot of the tantrums by teaching her how to swear. Well I taught her Rats and Darn, but it cut tantrums by a 1/3 right away.

  4. Heather, Dimples is really much worse then her sister. The stress is clearly in this picture. I couldn't get a picture of her without it! Dimples is so full of anxiety all the time and she is going through a really rough time right now. That has an impact on her sister. I need to post about it but can't seem to get the thoughts into words. Somedays I truly fear for Dimples future.

  5. It makes me smile getting to see them all together. Praying that God's power will overcome the power of the past that controls Dimples. Praying for healing.

  6. Does she get anxious when she feels she's not in control? Perhaps she doesn't trust anyone enough to trust them to take care of her. Kayla has control issues but it's more of a stubborn going to do it my way or no way thing. We are back in counseling for that and for violating other people's personal boundaries. I love that he counselor gave her stricter rules for playing with other kids and siblings than I did : ) Now I don't have to always be the bad guy because I can say, "Remember Mrs. Shannon's rules which we will follow to keep everyone safe..."

  7. Since you have shown everyone's faces, does that mean that the adoptions are almost done--or did I miss something? I say even out the bangs and keep the rest. Hair grows faster in the summer.

  8. No new movement on the girls. We may have to explore getting a lawyer ourselves. I will post more on that matter later. As far as our teen, well, on facebook she has taken our last name, listed us as her parents and posts all types of pictures. Her case is going faster. If I get a call of complaint from DSS I will take the pictures down. If they disappear everyone will know why.
