We have reserved our hotel for San Antonio but when looking at Houston I wasn't sure if my dad lived in the same area. I called him and left a message asking him where he currently lived. Today his wife called my husband and said that they did live in the same place and that we should pick a place to eat and they will meet us there. So sounds like we will have a meal. I have no idea where because I haven't been to this area in 8 years.
We are only spending two nights in Houston and in that time we hope to meet up with a niece, my brother and dad. Then we travel to San Antonio where we will take the new kids to the Alamo and Riverwalk. We hope to meet up with some very good friends while in town.
So, although I originally planned this trip so my kids could meet my dad, I realized that we shouldn't spend too much time in Houston waiting around for him. I think that the only time we will get with him is the one meal. I know it is an expensive trip for a meal but we will have a good time taking new kids to old haunts. Benjamin will also get his first pair of cowboy boots.
The cowboy boots will be worth it. And the excitement of flying for the first time.
